THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GUA SHA AND A FACE ROLLER
Using a face roller massages the skin, helping to alleviate tension in the face, it also stimulates blood flow which is said to increase elasticity of the skin, giving it a more vibrant appearance, through this process we help release any stored toxins from the face area, which results in clearer, more radiant skin!
PLEASE NOTE: I am four days into a parasite and liver cleanse, so I have had a couple of pimples show up, this is a common sign while cleansing that the body is detoxing, with toxins being released through the skin.
When comparing the detoxification abilities with Gua Sha, I feel the face roller has a much more gentle approach. I find using the Gua Sha tool more powerful in removing toxins (from observing the process of pimples healing much faster when including Gua Sha in my daily routine). I also find the Gua Sha tool more powerful in increasing circulation, from observing a more pronounced flush of colour that comes straight after performing Gua Sha, face rolling does offer this too but the colour rush is less intense. This must be due to gently scraping at the skin, it works deeper into the face. The face roller offers a more gentle approach in stimulating circulation and detoxification, and also performs a soothing massage, so I don’t consider one better than the other, they are both different and quite unique. If I did have to choose only one I would choose the Gua Sha tool for its detoxifying strength and compact size, however I do really value both, so am glad that I am not on desert island having to choose only one (or none!)
When I want to deeply detoxify I choose to perform a Gua Sha facial, and when I feel like a gentle massage and soothing/relaxing of my face muscles, I choose the face roller.
