WE SEE DIFFERENTLY, BUT WE FEEL THE SAME
And when you looked at her, from across the room, from behind a screen, you thought she had everything worked out, everything so perfectly organised, you thought she could not know any of the pain or the challenges you feel and experience, she seems so perfect, always shining, gets everything she wants. And then one day you sit next to her and you ask her how she feels, what inspired her to do certain things in her life, and her sharings shock you, she knows what it feels like to be depressed, she knows what it feels like to be anxious, she has fears, she worries, she shows you how deeply she feels, how vastly she gets challenged, how untamed her mind can be, how wild she feels to be, and then you real-eyes that even the seemingly perfect and brave have human feelings, challenges and thoughts, the only difference is how we choose to move through it all, how we choose to spend our time and how disciplined we can be with guiding our thoughts. No one is separate from human emotions, no one gets spared challenges and pain, everything is relative in this world, the point is not to avoid either, the point is to learn to find our peace and our strength in the midst of each storm, whether we howl, scream, stamp our feet, or stand still with wide wondering eyes, all is okay, all is us. ⠀
When I lived in model apartments in my early twenties, who I would see as THE most beautiful woman/model, the one I thought how lucky she was, how effortless booking jobs would be for her would often be the most insecure, unable to see her beauty, filled with similar insecurities we all felt as we navigated ourselves and the modelling world. Often shocked, it was such a gift in planting seeds of awareness that we all have challenges, and we cannot see ourselves as clearly as others often can. THE biggest gift for me along this journey has been having girlfriends who genuinely care about my wellbeing tell me how they see me, their view helps me see myself outside of my own mind. We are ONE.
